Sweet little babies!

Jacob is such a sweet big brother. He loves Olivia, or Baby as he calls her, so much. He thought it was so neat for her to be in his bed with him.
She always has a smile for her big brother.
I have been keeping my nephew, Peyton, some during the week. Last week we got the exersaucer out for him to play in and the whole time Jacob was really curious about the contraption. When we folded it down to put it away we found Jacob squeezed in it trying to play.

Demolition Day!

OK, so we have been talking about redoing the bathrooms, and for those of you who know me well you know that these sorts of things take planning out as to the exacts and a specific time line. The OCD inside of me really shines through. My husband, however, thinks very differently than I do. Go figure! He decided a few weekends ago that he was bored. BORED!!! How can you be bored with a 2-year-old and a newborn. Anyway, demolition began. First he refaced the bathroom cabinets and I repainted them. It's pretty amazing how awesome they look. Next thing I know he is removing the toilet and placing it in the front yard. I told him that I felt sure it was against the rules of the neighborhood association to have a toilet in your front yard, but that didn't stop him.
Next came beating up the old tiles. I wish I had a picture of the first night. We both just sat and looked at the floor and thought "What in the world have we done?" However, after much hard work he and Jacob had the floor all clean and ready for the next step.
Jacob was well prepared for the occasion just in case of flying debris.
Now came the time to screw in the plywood and backer board for the new tiles.
I think this piece needs a little more cutting Dad! Now if I only had a picture of the finished product. It looks great and was only a mess for about a week. Seth still has to put in the new baseboards, but other than that it is all done. I love it! When do we start on our bathroom?

The Escapee!

OK, on Sunday we made Jacob's bed into a Big Boy/Toddler bed. I know for some of you this is no big deal as seeing how your children moved from their cribs long ago. Jacob, however, has shown no interest in leaving his crib and I for one have not wanted him to. Simply because this means that he is no longer my baby. Anyway, after much pressure from Seth, I gave in and decided a toddler bed it was. He is now promoted to Big Boy! How sad! The transition went well and things seemed to be going great. For all of 2 days at least. We haven't heard him out of the bed or playing in his room when he is supposed to be sleeping, but this is what we found last night when we went to check on him before we got into bed. Did he fall asleep trying to get back into bed or trying to get out? I guess we will never know!

Silence is never a good sign!

When your two-year-old goes silent in his room for 10 minutes you should always go and check things out. That's what happened today. Jacob went to his room to play. I suddenly realized that I hadn't heard him in about 10 minutes. I found him, his mini Mr. Potato Head, and half the box of wipes all pulled out. When I asked him what he was doing he replied, "Ma, ta hine wipe" in other words Mama Mr. Potato Head needs his hiney wiped. It's pretty bad when you feel the need to get the camera and take a picture for your blog before you get on to your child. Smile Jacob, by the way don't do that again. Is that sending mixed signals?

The Potty

OK, so God is powerful enough to create this entire universe, but he can't create babies to come out potty trained? That's my big question when I get to heaven. How do you do this???? Jacob loves to sit on his potty. Too bad he only toots on it. And I am serious about that. It's like that's what he thinks the potty is made for. He runs in there, sits down, and the starts tooting. He thinks it's great and that he's really done something big. (Please excuse my beautiful legs. I may have figured out this blogging thing, but I still don't know how to crop a picture.)

The Boots!

The other day I had a big bag of clothes passed down to us from cousin Ava dumped all over the floor. Jacob decided that Baby (Olivia) needed to wear her new boots. I hate to tell him it will be awhile before she grows into them. I guess he decided that she needed some gas drops too?!

Playin' Rambo with my Dad

The other day Seth and Jacob were out working in the backyard together. They came inside and they each had one of those pink marker tape things (obviously I don't know the technical name) tied around their heads. It was so cute.

Dying Easter Eggs

Oh to be a kid again! I had forgotten the fun and amazement of dying Easter Eggs for the first time. The mess too! Jacob had so much fun.
He threw the eggs in the cups of dye, thus the splashed colors everywhere. We kept telling him to wait because the eggs weren't ready yet. Now when I tell him to wait on something he says "Not yet egg!" What a cutie!
The other big issue was that he wanted to eat the eggs. Hence the pointing at his mouth. Which was accompanied by "eat, eat."
Never turn your back on a two-year-old wanting to eat dyed eggs or this is what your get. How did he manage to break it in two with out us even noticing!

New way to keep a baby quiet!

I guess Olivia would rather wear her bow around her mouth than her head. I figure this is one way to keep her quiet during the car ride!

Hot Dog, Cake!

Eggs filled with cake!

Showin' off my eggs!

Where are all the eggs?

Today we went to the park for our church's Easter Egg Hunt. No one told me that you have to get there at 10:30 even though it doesn't start until 11:00 if you want any eggs. Poor Jacob. He wandered around looking for eggs to put in his basket, but there were none to be found. Talk about breaking a mamma's heart. Luckily his friend Abby Anne came by and hid some of her eggs for Jacob to find. He loved finding them and putting them in his basket, so we hid them over and over again for him. Thanks Abby Anne! Olivia slept through the entire hunt. She couldn't even wake up to see the Easter Bunny.

Easter Cupcakes

Today we got together and made Easter cupcakes. The kids had a blast licking icing and eating candy. Jacob wasn't quite sure what to do with his cupcake. He just looked at it and finally began to eat the candy off. Then he poked on the icing and licked it off. That's my boy, candy and icing!!!

Leah, Jackson, and Johannah are all proud of their decorations. Somehow I didn't manage to get a picture of Gracie. Sorry! Gracie put sprinkles, and only sprinkles, on every cupcake that she made. She wanted to be sure to know which were hers!
Johannah could be my child with a mouth that big!
